The Geographical Indication system is a system in which the country protects special products that meet certain requirements such as quality and production area as regional brands. National Tax agency designated “Yamagata” as a wine-producing region under the protection system. Branding of Yamagata wine is well expected.
The prefecture announced on the 2nd that the logo mark of the new variety “Yamagata Benio” of Otama cherry, which will be pre-sold in 2022, has been completed.
