Nike Inc. has sued StockX LLC, accusing the online marketplace of selling unauthorized digital products based on its sneakers.The lawsuit, filed Thursday in New York federal court, is the latest dispute involving a brand over the sale of products known as nonfungible tokens, or NFTs.
The “Odawara Kamaboko Cooperative” in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, which holds the regional collective trademark for “Odawara Kamaboko”, was accused of using the trademark without permission by “Sato Osamu Shoten”, a kamaboko manufacturer in Minamiashigara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. A settlement was reached at the Intellectual Property High Court in a lawsuit seeking an injunction against a vendor to stop selling its products.
