特許庁は２２日、商標制度に関する有識者会議を開き、氏名を含む商標の登録を認めやすくする方針を明らかにした。同じ氏名の他人の人格権を重視する観点から原則拒否してきたこれまでの姿勢を転換し、海外と同様に一定条件の下で認める。デザイナーの氏名を冠したブランドなどの権利保護に道を開く。早ければ来年の通常国会への商標法改正案提出を目指す。
