農林水産省は２０日、地域の産物や食品ブランドを守る地理的表示（ＧＩ）保護制度の対象に、北海道の「浜中養殖うに」と福島県の「昭和かすみ草」、栃木県の「鹿沼在来そば」、大阪府の「富田林の海老芋」、和歌山県の「あら川の桃」、長崎県の「長崎からすみ」の国内６品目を追加したと発表した。今回の登録で海外産も含めたＧＩは計１３７品目となった。
