5月2日、欧州理事会と欧州議会は、工芸品および工業製品の地理的表示（GI）保護に関する規則について暫定的な合意に達した。本規則が最終的に承認されれば、これまで主に食品や飲料に用いられてきたGIが、ボヘミアンガラス、リモージュ磁器、ゾーリンゲン食器など、その品質が生産地と本質的に結びついている工業製品に拡大されることとなる。
