菅義偉官房長官は５日午前の記者会見で、来年５月の改元後、「平成」など過去の元号を商標登録できないようにする方向で検討していることを明らかにした。現在は登録できない対象を「現元号」としているが、商標登録の基準を見直し、旧元号も含む「元号」に広げる。改元後に旧元号となる「平成」を利用した商法を防ぐ狙いがある。
