Trademarks are a headache. Trademarks for foreign countries are even worse. You just found out that a US trademark won’t apply in the UK, and who even knows if they work in the EU (they don’t, by the way).
World Intellectual Property Organization was created to promote and protect intellectual property (IP) across the world by cooperating with countries as well as international organizations, and serves as the global forum for intellectual property policy, services, information and cooperation.
Indonesia’s long-deliberated Omnibus Law (Law No. 11 of 2020) was enacted on November 2, 2020, implementing a number of amendments to Indonesia’s intellectual property laws.

The Omnibus Law also makes a few amendments to the Trademark Law:
The law’s list of marks that are not registrable now includes marks containing a functional form.
To speed up the prosecution process, substantive examination will now be carried out as soon as the publication period ends, and will be completed within 30 days, if there is no opposition; or within 90 days if an opposition has been filed.
The amended law no longer mentions collection of the certificate, since all certificates are issued as e-certificates.
The Kanagawa Prefectural Fisheries Technology Center announced that it has registered a trademark for “cabbage sea urchin,” which is made by raising purple sea urchins with cabbage.
Afew days after his passing away, it has been revealed that a company established by Diego Maradona’s lawyer, Matias Morla, back in June 2015 owns the former Argentina legend’s brand name.The aforementioned company, called Sattvica SA, registered the trademarks “El 10”, “Maradona”, “Diegol”, “La Mano de Dios” and “El Diego”, among other similar references to the former Napoli forward.
On December 7, 2020, the Beijing Intellectual Property Court announced the affirmance of an earlier Trademark Review and Adjudication Board (TRAB) ruling invalidating the Xingning Shixin Lamp Factory’s (兴宁市时新灯具厂) “Green Lantern” trademark for damaging the name and title of the Green Lantern movie. Because of prior rights and interests enjoyed by the name, the Court affirmed the TRAB.
